What is an Overdose?

Overdose is a harmful reaction that occurs when a person takes more of a drug, alcohol, or medicine than the body can safely process. The reaction may slow breathing, impair consciousness, cause seizures, damage organs, or lead to death. An overdose can happen after one use or during long-term substance use.
